Using standard field extensions when naming your fields

There are a number of reasons why using standard field extensions when naming your fields is a good idea.

First, if you use the field extensions that we recommend in this article in a Word Template, and then import the Template into a Form, Zumeforms will recognise the field extensions and create Fields on your Form that correspond to the appropriate field type.

Another reason is that it will make automating your Templates and designing your Forms much easier, as you will clearly know the type of Field you are dealing with in each case.

Our standard QuickParts for both Templates and Forms also adhere to this standard naming convention.

The standard extensions recognised by Zumeforms are as follows:

Text_txt

TextMultiLine_txtml

YesNo_yn

Choice_cho

Radio_rdo

Checkbox_chk

Number_num

Email_eml

Date_dt

Repeat_Section_rpt

Section_sec

Script_scr
